Dr Derek Chase, Green Party candidate for Marylebone High Street ward, was out canvassing today in Marylebone. He denied that Westminster Greens had made a deal with Labour and the Lib-Dems to create an anti-Tory alliance on Westminster City Council.

Labour are not standing any candidates in Marylebone High Street as they see it as unwinnable. The Lib-Dems are offering two candidates and the Greens are just putting forward Dr Chase. The Conservatives are putting up three candidates.

Paul Dimoldenberg, leader of the Labour group, told the West End Extra: “Labour voters in these wards can help to defeat the Conservatives by lending their support to other parties for this particular election. They have never been won by Labour because of the large number of very wealthy people who live there. If all the anti-Conservatives unite behind the same candidates, then we can give the Conservatives the fight of their lives.”
