Fitzrovia Mural on the Grade II listed Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Centre

The London Festival of Architecture 2010 is a London-wide event taking place from Saturday 19 June to Sunday 4 July. The Festival is an open event and “all Londoners are invited to join the Festival community, to develop projects to take part in debates; to investigate ways that London can be made a better place to live, work and play; to explore the city through guided walks and bike rides and to examine change in the capital in a celebratory way”, say the Festival organisers.

Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Centre (Grade II Listed building) where Fitzrovia News is based will be open from 10am to 6pm on Saturday 19 June for a Fitzrovia Festival of People’s Architecture to remind visitors that The People Live Here! There will be refreshments, a display of literature, photography and information about Fitzrovia’s listed buildings and conservation areas and the importance of planning and development control. Characters of Fitzrovia, a guided walk by local author Mike Pentelow. 4pm Saturday 19 June . Meet at Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Centre, 39 Tottenham Street. Arup Phase 2 exhibition space, 8 Fitzroy Street

The Fitzrovia Trail. Ramboll, in Newman Street, and Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, in Tottenham Street, will be among the design practices including architects and engineers based in Fitzrovia who will open their doors along the Fitzrovia Trail from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 19 June. Building Bodies at Egoist Body Studios. This beautiful town house at 6 Fitzroy Square will be open on Saturday, 19 June from 10.00am to 6.00pm. Cycling in Fitzrovia. There will be a number of cycling events taking place to link up with other London rides and National Bike Week. There will be two feeder rides from the Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Centre on Saturday 19 June. At 12noon there will be a ride through the back streets, and cobbled streets to Clerkenwell and back again. Fitzroy Square Cycling Fair.
