Camden Council has submitted the Fitzrovia Area Action Plan to the Secretary of State for independent examination with public hearings to be held in July.
The Area Action Plan covers the part of Fitzrovia that lies within the Camden boundary, and includes part of Bloomsbury.
The Plan which was submitted on 19 April seeks to support sustainable growth at a realistic level while maintaining what makes the area attractive as a place to live, work and visit.
The plan will, if approved, be a key document in managing development in Fitzrovia. The area is currently experiencing a lot of change and development pressure stimulated by the Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station project.Â
Camden Council has made the following documents available for inspection:
(1) the Fitzrovia Area Action Plan Proposed Submission (the Plan);
(2) the Sustainability Appraisal report on the Plan;
(3) Policies Map Changes that would arise from the adoption of the Plan; and
(4) a Consultation Statement dated April 2013 setting out
(a) who we consulted before we published the Plan, how we consulted them, the issues they raised and how we took them into account, and
(b) the number of representations we received when we published the Plan and a summary of the main issues raised by those representations.
The documents are available for inspection at St Pancras Library, Argyle Street, London WC1H 8NN during the following hours:
Mon 9am-7pm, Tue-Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 11am-5pm.

Inspector Louise Crosby MA MRTPI has been appointed to examine the Area Action Plan on behalf of the Secretary of State. As part of the examination, public hearings will commence at 10.00am on Tuesday 2 July 2013 and take place at Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, London WC1H 9JE.
The hearings are held in public and are open to all. People who responded to consultation on the Plan will be giving evidence about their responses. You can find out what will be discussed at each session during the hearings by viewing the webpage for the examination.
