The group of galleries opening as part of Fitzrovia Lates will this month open late tonight (Wednesday 26 February) in a change from the usual Thursday lates.
Hamni Gallery have announced: “Please join us for a special evening in Fitzrovia on Wednesday evening to celebrate Art 14 London. Participating galleries in Fitzrovia will be presenting a series of private previews and have special extended opening hours.” Galleries will open until 9pm.
The galleries are: Art First, Bartha Contemporary, Berloni Gallery, England & Co, Gallery Different, GRAD, Hanmi Gallery, Kashya Hildebrand Gallery, Nancy Victor, New Art Projects, Pi Artworks, Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery, Rook & Raven, Rosenfeld Porcini, Rose Issa, Scream, TJ Boulting.
An announcement is expected in March about the usual Thursday late night openings. The Fitzrovia Lates website and Twitter page has not been updated since November 2013.
Haunch of Venison, a major player in promoting Fitzrovia Lates and owns the domain name fitzrovialates.co.uk, announced last year that they would change its operation. Its owners Christie’s International said the gallery will become a permanent exhibition and sales space for Christie’s private sales department.
Fitzrovia News understands that some galleries are continuing with concept of Fitzrovia Lates and continue to use the hashtag #FitzroviaLates on Twitter.
