Westminster City Council is changing the way it consults on planning and licensing applications in a move towards paperless working.
From 1 October 2015 the consultation period for planning applications will also be extended from 21 to 28 days.
In an email to Westminster’s amenity societies the council says it will change to a near paperless format for planning applications to save costs and speed up the validation process.
However for major planning applications the council says it recognises the difficulties with viewing plans online and will ask applicants to provide amenity societies with A3 paper drawings and other documents.
Consultation for licensing applications is already mostly paperless but the council will now publish Licensing News in a weekly bulletin online. The council has also updated its “model conditions“.
