Fitzrovia News is produced in print every three months.

Fitzrovia News is an independent, non-profit community news site and newspaper written, edited and produced by volunteers who live in Fitzrovia. Articles are either written by individuals or a collective of writers and editors.

Since June 2021 Fitzrovia News has been a partner of the Local Democracy Reporting Service, which provides reports on the decision-making of Camden and Westminster councils and the Greater London Authority.

We do not syndicate stories from national newspapers or news agencies or carry advertising or “advertorials”.

Our reporting includes public interest news, features and comment about housing, business, environment, people, events, history, culture, politics and public consultations.

We also publish a page of neighbourhood listings providing community information and services.

We cover the whole of Fitzrovia: from Great Portland Street in the west, to Gower Street and Bloomsbury Street in the East, and from the Euston Road in the north, to Oxford Street and New Oxford Street in the south.

We are members of the Independent Community News Network (ICNN).

History of Fitzrovia News

Front page of newspaper.
Tower was produced from 1973 until the early 1980s when it was re-named Fitzrovia News. We have an archive of every issue.

A community newspaper called Tower was started in 1973 by a small group of activists as a free community newspaper but ceased publication at the end of 1979. In 1980 the Fitzrovia Neighbourhood News was born, supported by the Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association. In January 1987 it was shortened to Fitzrovia News and has been published more or less four times a year ever since. From 2009 Fitzrovia News has been published online. As of June 2010 Fitzrovia News has featured in Google News and from October 2014 in Bing News. There is an article on Fitzrovia News at Wikipedia.

We have an archive of Tower and Fitzrovia News printed newspapers.
