Significant changes were announced by University College Hospital NHS Trust to the proposals to develop on the former workhouse site in Cleveland Street.
At a Camden Council Development Control Forum on 23 February new proposals to develop the site were presented which showed a scheme of about 140 flats, a walkway to Charlotte Street and a 10 storey tower at the back of the site.
However, the amount of social housing being offered is below that required by a 106 agreement. Residents also criticised the proposal as being too bulky, lacking in open space and children’s play area.
One resident criticised the design for being more in keeping with Benidorm than a conservation area in Fitzrovia.
