American activist and author Michael Albert will visit Fitzrovia to discuss Venezuela, socialism and revolutionary movements. The event is being held at the Bolivar Hall in Grafton Way and is one of a series of talks and discussions that Albert is taking part in across Europe in October.

Michael Albert is co-editor of ZNet and Z Magazine and has written extensively on participatory democracy, socialism, and the Bolivarian revolution. He is one of the leading thinkers of alternative economics. His book Parecon discusses participatory economics a form of economy which advances both an alternative to contemporary capitalist market economies and centrally planned socialism.

Hands Off Venezuela has invited to him reflect on the movements attempting to build a participatory form of socialism in Venezuela and across Latin America, with a question and answer session afterwards.
