The New Diorama are taking their new production very literally. Marketing imitates art as they send three young women out onto the streets of Fitzrovia this afternoon in an amoral effort to seduce us into handing over our cash, albeit at a discount, for a night at the theatre. We’re not sure who’s corrupting who, or if it’s taking irony a little too far…
For New Diorama’s first in-house production they are putting on a risque comedy influenced by Bertolt Brecht’s 1940s satirical comment on the Nazis: The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui.
Presented by New Diorama Theatre and PIT, The Dark Room tells the tale of Ruth “the new girl” at a secondary school as she blackmails and seduces her way to the top of the social ladder.
The Dark Room runs from 10 to 28 April and you can get tickets for only £10 from the New Diorama website by quoting “UI2012” or by phoning the box office on 020 7383 9034.
