A van was driven into a tree this morning ripping a large branch off. The street tree on the eastern side of Charlotte Street near the junction with Chitty Street was damaged when a removals van was trying to park.

A witness said they saw the branch being torn off as a van was parking at about 8.30 this morning. A section of the roof of the van which is owned by Hadfields Transport was also damaged when it collided with the tree.

The mature tree is believed to be an ash and is in the Charlotte Street conservation area in Fitzrovia. Camden Council’s tree section have been informed of the incident.
