Community organisations in Bloomsbury and Holborn will tonight meet to discuss a proposal to create a Bloomsbury and Holborn Neighbourhood Area under the Localism Act.

The Bloomsbury Association says, “We are currently in discussion with Holborn community groups to determine if they would be interested in joining a Forum that includes all of their area of interest within Camden. Based on the outcome of these talks we hope to be in a position to apply to Camden in spring 2014”.

There are already other neighbourhood area applications pending in Camden and Westminster, including Marylebone, Fitzrovia West, and Fitzrovia (cross-boundary). Fitzrovia News understands there is also a proposal for a Covent Garden neighbourhood forum. Neighbourhood areas have already been approved in Soho and Mayfair.

At a meeting tonight (Wednesday) the Bloomsbury Association will be presenting the case for a joint Bloomsbury and Holborn neighbourhood forum.
