Visitors to Fitzroy Square today were given the chance to taste Welsh cakes, bara brith, teisen lap and other treats baked especially for the Dylan Thomas centenary celebrations. Heather Shaill cooked up some of the cakes and also vegetarian savory dish, Camarthen sausages.

Also in Fitzroy Square today were sheep (from Hackney City Farm) and poetry readings in a mock shepherd’s hut.
Events this weekend (25-26 October) round off a week of celebrations commemorating 100 years since the birth of Dylan Thomas and the poet’s time in Fitzrovia.
