Christmas lights will be switched on this Thursday (13 November) and there will be a winter street market held later in the month, the Fitzrovia Partnership Business Improvement District has announced.

Lee Lyons Christmas message.
A Christmas message from your friendly local BID manager, as seen in the latest Fitzrovia Partnership marketing paper.

The festive lights will be turned on in Tottenham Court Road, Charlotte Street, Goodge Street and Maple Street at an event taking place at 5pm outside University College Hospital on the corner of Tottenham Court Road and Euston Road. Visitors are advised to gather at 4.45pm.

Fitzrovia News reporters have noticed that there are more lights this year and we will be inspecting trees and street furniture, and investigating to see if there have been any breaches of the conservation area, listed items, and if any damage has been done to our precious street trees. And anything else we can think of…

There will be a one day winter market outside the Building Centre on Store Street from 12 noon to 8pm on Thursday 27 November with street food from local restaurants.

In the Fitzrovia BID’s latest marketing paper, BID Manager Lee Lyons tells readers that Fitzrovia offers everything from “filling your stockings to stuffing the bird.” We quite agree.
