A man is in police custody tonight (Thursday) after he crashed a car he was driving into a building in Fitzrovia.

Scene of car crash.
The white Range Rover ended up on the pavement outside the Old Dairy Cafe on the corner of Warren Street and Conway Street.

A white Range Rover left the road and crashed into the Old Dairy Cafe on the corner of Warren Street and Conway Street after the driver turned off the Euston Road late on Thursday night.

Police are at the scene this evening and have partly cordoned off the street. Fitzrovia News understands no-one was hurt and no other vehicle was involved.

The Evans Dairy building is a Grade II listed building which may have been damaged. The shop is one of the best surviving examples of a Welsh dairy, common in London in early C20 but now extremely rare. The tilework in this example is particularly attractive.

Update: 8 May 2015. One of our readers has tweeted about damage to the shop front.
