Camden Council is holding a public consultation on proposed changes to the street environment at Alfred Mews in Fitzrovia.

The proposals include pavement widening on the north side of Alfred Mews “to make it easier and safer for pedestrians to access the new entrances to the Healโ€™s Building”, alterations to the footway at the junction with Tottenham Court Road, and changes at the western end of Chenies Street.

Additional cycle parking, and changes to loading and motor vehicle parking are also proposed in the plans.

The council claims that the changes will “make walking and cycling in Alfred Mews easier, safer, and more enjoyable”.

A decision on whether to go ahead with the changes will be made based on “evidence including the consultation responses, relevant policies, officer observations and other data/information,” says Camden.

Camden Council: Alfred Mews Area Safe and Healthy Streets Scheme. Consultation is open until 26 February 2024.
