Mount Eden Land Limited has applied to Westminster Council for a new premises licence for 19-21 Great Portland Street, in Fitzrovia West.

The application is for a “shadow licence” on identical terms as the existing licence.

Westminster Council’s statement of licensing policy says: “These ‘Shadow Licences’ are normally sought by the landowner to protect the interest of their property due to the policy to refuse certain new applications.” A shadow licence will — in the event that a licence lapses, is surrendered or is revoked — allow the property owner to market the property with a premises licence.

The existing premises licence (23/09019/LIPDPS) permits a number of activities including the sale of alcohol from 10am to 3am the following morning from Monday to Saturday; and from 11am to 30 minutes past midnight the following morning on Sundays.

To view the details of the application and to make a comment, see the application on Westminster Council’s website.

24/01486/LIPSL, 19 – 21 Great Portland Street, London W1W 8QB.

The last date for representations to be received by Westminster Council is 10 April 2024.
