Queens of Bohemia: fabled femmes of the French House, by Darren Coffield, with a foreword by Marianne Faithfull, tells the story of the taboo-breaking women of bohemian London.

Thrill to tales of the “Queen of Clubs”, Kate Meyrick; the scary “Tiger Woman”, Betty May; the original “Chelsea Girl”, Viva King; outrageous artist, Nina Hammett; the “Euston Road Venus”, Sonia Orwell; and Isabel Rawsthorne, pornographer, artist and spy — to name a few.

Clive Jennings will be hosting a book talk and signing on Monday 24 June upstairs at the historic and notorious French House, 49 Dean Street, Soho, London W1D 5BG from 6.30pm to 9.00pm. Hear all about it in the bar where a lot of the action happened! Darren will also be launching his great new print of The French House. Free and all welcome.
