Transport for London is proposing to alter the numbers 30 and 205 bus routes along Euston Road and is asking passengers to respond to a public consultation on the plans.
Currently route 30 runs between Marble Arch and Hackney Wick via Euston Road. TfL is planning to withdraw this route between Marble Arch and Euston Bus Station.
Route 205 currently runs between Bow Church and Paddington. TfL plans to withdraw the route between Paddington and Baker Street station and instead re-route it to Marble Arch via Baker Street.
Route 27 which runs between Hammersmith Grove and Chalk Farm will have extra buses laid on.
“Route 27 that covers the Paddington to Baker Street section of the route 205 would get extra early morning and late evening journeys to compensate for the loss of the route 205 journeys that serve this section at present,” says TfL.
The proposals mean that some passengers would have to change buses to start or complete journeys.
TfL says the changes are needed due to fewer passengers using the number 30 and 205 since 2019.
One resident contacted The Fitzrovia News to express their concerns about the changes.
“The impact these changes will have will be huge to residents especially near Euston Road. The proposed changes are scandalous and will cut buses and access to Paddington Station as well as going east to Hackney quite dramatically, especially for disabled people,” they said.
A public consultation on the proposals closes on Friday 10 January 2025.
