Petite Cafe London Limited has asked Westminster Council for a variation of its premises licence to allow the sale alcohol until 1am every day of the week at the ground floor and basement of 102 Great Portland Street in Fitzrovia West.

The business is a restaurant trading under the name of Bennie with a capacity for 70 customers and currently has a licence for the sale of alcohol to drink on and off the premises from 9am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 8am until 10.30pm on Sunday.

This existing licence only permits alcohol to be sold to customers seated and taking a table meal or to those having a takeaway meal, and was approved by a licensing sub-committee on 30 November 2023

According to the new application, the business is now seeking permission to extend the hours for “on sales” of alcohol until 1am every day of the week. But no permission is being sought to serve late night refreshment (hot food beyond 11pm) which suggests the business seeks to serve alcohol after 11pm to customers who are not taking a table meal.

A number of conditions have been offered in support of the application.

To view the details of the application and to make a comment, see the application on Westminster Council’s website.

25/02432/LIPV, 102 Great Portland Street, London W1W 6PD.

The last date for representations to be received by the Licensing Authority is 28 May 2025.

Update, 16 July 2025: This licensing application has now been withdrawn says Westminster Council.
