Changes proposed for pedestrian crossings in The Regent’s Park

The Crown Estate Paving Commission (CEPC) is proposing to make changes to some pedestrian crossings in The Regent’s Park, and is seeking the views of park visitors at an event in June.

CEPC, following engagement with The Royal Parks, says it is proposing to “implement improvements” to three pedestrian crossings around the Outer Circle roadway, according to a notice pinned up near the Primrose Hill Bridge.

The proposals are part of the CEPC’s “strategic priority to improve pedestrian safety on the Outer Circle”.

The Crown Estate and the CEPC are entirely separate and independent statutory bodies, each set up by their own distinct Acts of Parliament. The CEPC is not part of The Crown Estate and is financially independent from it, states the CEPC.

The CEPC only handles matters relating to the management of its roads, pavements or gardens and the services that arise as part of its management responsibilities.

Park visitors are invited to a public engagement event to learn more and ask questions about the project.

Outer Circle Pedestrian Crossing Improvements: public engagement drop-in Event at International Students House, 229 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PN, from 2pm until 4pm on Tuesday 3 June 2025. No need to book, although registration on the day will be required.
