The Fitzrovia Partnerhip, which runs two business improvement districts (BIDs) in the neighbourhood, has announced two new additions to its executive team.
“Andrew Munk, joins as chief executive officer and Aaron Finn as head of place and programme delivery. Dr Julie Grail, our Interim chief executive officer, will continue until end of September to support the handover to Andrew,” stated an email to its members in early July.
โIโm excited to build on the successes of The Fitzrovia Partnership and to lead its strategic growth and future vision, helping shape a vibrant and thriving Fitzrovia,โ said Munk who previously worked for Hammersmith and Fulham Council, and Hackney Council.
Finn, who was previously at Hatton Garden BID, said, โIโm looking forward to joining an organisation that places sustainability at its core, and is committed to delivering real value through collaborative working; not only for businesses but for the wider community.โ
They will introduce themselves to member businesses over the coming weeks.
The Fitzrovia News spotted Munk earlier this month wandering around looking a little lost. If you find him, please return him to the 5th floor of 175 Tottenham Court Road where someone will look after him.
The first BID was set up in the Camden part of Fitzrovia in 2012 and a second in the Westminster part of the neighbourhood in 2023. It now provides business services for around 400 of the largest business premises occupiers in the neighbourhood who pay a levy on their business rates. This generates an income of around ยฃ2mn a year.
It runs promotional campaigns throughout the year in an attempt to persuade visitors to spend money in the neighbourhood, and claims to โenhance the sustainability and physical presence of the area and the range of services required to ensure that it looks and feels safe, clean and welcomingโ.
However, the district is blighted by rubbish dumped at all hours and a multitude of waste contractors trundling through the streets, shovelling up stinking bags that have often been left out for days.
Grail has been with the business group since last year and has overseen a restructuring of the executive team.
The Partnership began their search for a new chief executive in February. Munk will receive a salary of up to ยฃ100,000 and will be responsible for the strategic leadership, management and development of the BID.
