Westminster Council is proposing a road traffic order to allow cycling in both directions on one-way sections of Carburton Street and Great Titchfield Street in Fitzrovia West.

Cycling contraflows are proposed on two sections of Great Titchfield Street between Carburton Street and New Cavendish Street; and on Carburton Street between Cleveland Street and Great Titchfield Street.

New signage and road markings will indicate the new layout of the carriageway, and changes to waiting and loading restrictions and parking provisions will be made “to complement these contra-flow cycle routes” states the traffic order.

The scheme is part of changes to improve cycling permeability on 19 streets across ten wards in the City of Westminster.

WSP, on behalf of Westminster Council, is seeking comments on the proposals until 30 July 2025.
