Fitzrovia Community Centre in Foley Street is looking for new trustees, including the key role of chairperson, to join its governing board.
The Community Centre first opened in June 2012 and runs a number of activities and services for local residents as well as providing rooms for hire. It also hosts the annual Fitzrovia Fete.
“We are actively seeking new members to join our small Board of Trustees, including the key role of Chair,” said the Community Centre in an announcement this week.
“All of our Trustees have a connection to Fitzrovia and knowledge of the area and its communities. We are keen to build our skills and expertise by engaging individuals with experience in the voluntary and community sector, children and young people, building or facilities management, commercial, health and safety, finance or business development. In particular, we invite applications from underrepresented groups and those with lived experience of the issues we seek to address within our community.”
The organisation is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. It is supported by Camden and Westminster councils. In the last financial year it had an income of ยฃ324k from a mix of grants, donations and room hire, according to its published accounts.
Trustees are unpaid but are legally responsible for the proper running of the charity and limited company.
