The first in a series of exhibitions by newly appointed curators Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard will open this month at the Fitzrovia Chapel.
“Souvenir”, taken from the title of Michael Bracewell’s haunting eulogy to the London of the late 1970s and early 1980s, is the first in a trilogy of exhibitions Forsyth and Pollard will organise throughout 2026.
Passages from Bracewell’s text will be voiced by actor Paul Kaye, accompanied by a composition from composer and piano inventor Sarah Nicolls created on her radically modified upright grand piano.
Meanwhile, artist Matthew Healey will reflect on the Chapel itself as a symbol of a vanishing London, while filmmaker Sal Pittman will bring a series of unique cinematic vignettes.
