Evans Cycles has returned to Fitzrovia West in a shop unit at 43 Margaret Street near the corner of Regent Street.
It vacated its previous store on Mortimer Street in 2024 and now occupies a smaller shop that many years ago was an outlet for Halfords’ brand Cycle Republic.
The new 4,500 square foot West End cycle centre opened at the end of September last year and offers sales and repairs for a wide variety of cycles.
It remains the only cycle sales and repair shop in Fitzrovia West despite the huge number of cyclists commuting through the neighbourhood every weekday.
Data published by Transport for London in November 2025 reported that cycling journeys across London are up by 43 per cent compared with 2019 levels.
Evans Cycles is a long-established brand and is owned by Frasers Group which in 2024 bought the former Wiggle and Chain Reaction Cycle names.
At Store Street in Fitzrovia East there is Cyclefit which offer sales and repairs of its own cycles only.
The neighbourhood has seen many cycle shops come and go over the past 10 years, many struggling to pay the high rents property owners are asking.
