
Westminster Council has validated 36 planning applications in the Fitzrovia West area for February 2026.
In addition one application has been validated in the neighbouring Marylebone area on Great Portland Street, which we have included in our monthly list.
A number of applications have also been decided, and three appeals against decisions have been made.
However, due to the council experiencing difficulties in validating and deciding applications since the cyber attack on its computer system in November last year, this list contains more applications than usual.
The monthly list we have produced is pulled from those applications validated from 25 November to 28 February, according to the online database. We understand that the system should be operating as normal from 1 March 2026.
Among the applications in Fitzrovia West are:
- Change of use to mixed Use Class E and Sui Generis pet store, pet wellness and grooming with boarding facility, 87 Great Portland Street;
- Change of use at 153-157 Cleveland Street;
- Refuse store on corner of Greenwell Street and 153 – 157 Cleveland Street;
- Tables and chairs outside Green Man 36 Riding House Street;
- Amendments to previous application, and alterations and roof terrace at Bentinck House, 3-8 Bolsover Street;
- Extension to roof terrace at 91 New Cavendish Street;
- Air conditioning units at 41-42 Foley Street;
- Full-height rear infill extension for additional commercial floorspace at basement and ground floor levels and enlargement of flats on the upper floors, 154 New Cavendish Street.
Among the appeals lodged against a decision:
- Use of basement and ground floors as a pet wellness, grooming, and overnight boarding facility, 87 Great Portland Street. This is yet to be listed on the Planning Inspectorate. (NB: this is in addition to a new planning application listed this month.)
