Paint on canvass by artist Paul Davey.
Estuary by Paul Davey.

Artist Paul Davey and soundscape composer Irving Kinnersley will be holding a collaborative exhibition entitled “Estuary” at Vortex Redux, Fitzroy Square, in May.

The original Vortex Gallery was part of the Hackney art scene in the 1980s, showcasing new and established artists.

Thirty years on it returns as Vortex Redux — a roving gallery, exploring contemporary, digital and sound art at pop-up events.

Davey was an exhibitor at the original Vortex while Kinnersley founded and ran the gallery.

“Estuary” is inspired by the windswept marshes of Bridgewater Bay, Somerset, on the Severn Estuary where coincidentally Davey and Kinnersley met by chance having not seen each other for many years.

Estuary, paintings by Paul Davey and immersive soundscape by Irving Kinnersley, is at Vortex Redux, 5 Fitzroy Square, Fitzrovia, London W1T 5HH, from Friday 8 to Saturday 23 May 2026. Open from Monday to Saturday from 10.30am to 6.30pm, and Sunday 11am to 5pm. The exhibition is on the ground floor and will be accessed through the front door. Entry is free.
