This month a new public garden will open at The Regent’s Park, giving a huge boost to biodiversity with hedgerows, trees, meadows, and a pond.

Located on the corner of Chester Road and the central section of the Broad Walk, it will feature a series of structures including a pergola with climbing plants, and a disused water tower will be transformed into an accessible elevated platform providing views across the new garden.

Already a site that supports a variety of wildlife, it will include bat nesting boxes, roosts for swifts, and habitats to support hedgehogs.

Created on the site of redundant greenhouses and plant nurseries, the former working site covering an area of nearly one hectare will commemorate the late Queen Elizabeth II and provide additional public space for visitors to enjoy.

The Queen Elizabeth II Garden will open to the public on Monday 27 April 2026. More information can be found here.
