The Fitzrovia Futures 2055 project is looking for people to contribute to a narrative fiction on possible futures for the neighbourhood.
Participants can expect a lively discussion about a neuroinclusive sustainable future for Fitzrovia, sharing ideas with built environment professionals through creative thinking and writing.
Drawing from the theme of “belonging” and making the local community feel included, the workshop will consist of a walk around the neighbourhood and a session where six residents will present their ideas for the Future of Fitzrovia in 2055.
The Fitzrovia Futures 2055 project uses applied science fiction as a tool to look across a 30-year horizon, enabling those who take part to think in everyday terms about what they want their neighbourhood to become in the future.
The workshop will take place at the Fitzrovia Community Centre, as part of the London Festival of Architecture 2026, and be facilitated by Stephen Oram and Christine Aicardi from Fitzrovia Futures 2055, Luisa Pereira Pires of the Neurodiversity Architecture Network, and Anzir Boodoo of the Architects Climate Action Network.
A workshop for Belonging: levelling the ground between built environment professionals and the Fitzrovia community in exploring its Futures: Saturday 6 June 2026, from 1pm to 3.30pm, at Fitzrovia Community Centre. This workshop is free and is intended for local residents or people who are linked to Fitzrovia in some way. Book a place here.
