Westminster Council is seeking the views of residents on the draft of its new licensing policy, in a public consultation this summer.
Pubic feedback on the draft document will help shape the policy, which sets out how the Council manages licensed premises, including pubs, bars, restaurants, and venues selling hot food between 11pm and 5am the following morning.
“Our aim with this Statement of Licensing Policy is to promote a well-managed and varied day, evening and night-time, that delivers economic growth and social value — while also operating safely and responsibly and protecting the essence of our city,” says Cllr Tim Barnes, cabinet member for growth and planning.
“Effective licensing plays an important role in achieving these goals, as it helps to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone involved.
“Through regulation informed by activities such as this consultation, we can support businesses and communities, ensuring that the night-time economy continues to thrive responsibly and sustainably.”
