In November 2025 a group of scientists updated members of Parliament about the severe climate-related risks to the UK’s economy, public health, food systems and national security.
That national emergency briefing on climate and nature led to the making of the People’s Emergency Briefing — a 50-minute film with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden — which is being shown in community venues across the UK.
On Thursday 5 November, Fitzrovia Community Centre will hold a public screening of the film followed by a discussion on the issues raised.
What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK, including extreme weather, food security, health, and the cost of living?
“We will be inviting our local MPs and are optimistic that they will join with constituents for this important discussion about our future,” says the Community Centre.
Seats are free but limited so please book in advance. Light refreshments will be provided. The film is suitable for anyone aged 16+. You can book a place here.
There is also an online screening at 4pm on Saturday 24 October for anyone who can’t safely or easily attend — including clinically vulnerable and disabled people — which is being organised by Clinically Vulnerable Families CIC. To book this screening register here.
