An exhibition of prints produced from negatives taken with an antique camera are on show in a hairdressing salon on Riding House Street this month.
Portraits by Adam French, a specialist in early photographic processes, were shot in and around the historic TJ Boulting building and its neighbouring housing blocks in collaboration with art group Fitzrovia Noir CIC.
On display are 10×8 inch wet collodion tinplates and prints made from X-ray film stock using a mid-19th century camera, and feature local residents and visitors.
Curated by Garry Hunter and Graham Carrick for Fitzrovia Noir with X-ray film stock shoot production by Elyssa Sykes-Smith, SALON runs until 31 October 2026 at The King’s Canary, 59 Riding House Street, London W1W 7EG. Open Tuesday-Friday, noon-8pm and Saturdays until 6pm
