Maple Street is currently closed due to resurfacing works being carried out, causing major disruption to routes into the Charlotte Street area in Fitzrovia.

The street is shut for its whole length from the junction of Cleveland Street to Tottenham Court Road, with only intermittent access across the street at the junctions with Cleveland Street, Fitzroy Street and Whitfield Street. Diversions are in place.

Work on the carriageway started on Tuesday 1 October and The Fitzrovia News understands that the road is due to open again by the evening of Thursday 3 October.

Due to the works there is no entry to Grafton Way (west of Tottenham Court Road).

Mortimer Street is also closed between Great Portland Street and Great Titchfield Street until sometime later in October to allow work to be carried out as part of Westminster Councilโ€™s Oxford Street Programme (OSP).

Routes into the Charlotte Street and Fitzroy Street area are very restricted due to the works and drivers are advised to avoid using Fitzrovia as a through route.
