Conservative party candidates have taken all three seats in Westminster City Council’s West End ward, and taken back control of the council, in the 2026 local elections held this week.
Counting took place overnight with the full council results announced just before 7am this morning.
Elizabeth Amos, Tim Barnes, and Paul Fisher were elected on a voter turnout of 33 per cent.
Labour had won all three seats in the May 2022 election. Unusually, Paul Fisher was elected for Labour in 2022 but defected to the Conservatives in 2025. He retains his seat on the council in the same ward but for a different party.
Tim Barnes lost he seat in the 2022 election but regained it in a by-election for the ward in 2024.
The sole remaining Labour councillor in the West End ward, Patrick Lilley, lost his seat but gained more votes than his two Labour colleagues, and well ahead of candidates for the Green Party, Reform UK, and the Liberal Democrats.
West End ward includes the Fitzrovia West neighbourhood area.
