Four candidates compete for seat in West End ward by-election

Candidates from four political parities — Conservatives, Greens, Labour, and the Liberal Democrats — will battle it out for a seat on Westminster City Council in a by-election in the West End ward on Thursday 19 September.

Standing again for the Conservatives is former councillor and cabinet member Tim Barnes who lost the same seat when Labour swept to power in 2022.

Fiona Parker is standing for Labour and hoping to join fellow Labour councillors Paul Fisher and Patrick Lilley who first gained their seats in 2022.

Also on the ballot paper will be Rajiv Sinah who is standing for the Green Party, and Phillip Kerle who is standing for the Liberal Democrats.

Westminster Council’s West End ward includes the Fitzrovia West neighbourhood area.

The by-election was triggered by the resignation of Councillor Jessica Toale after she was elected Labour MP for Bournemouth West at the General Election.
