A by-election will be held in the West End ward of the City of Westminster after the expected resignation of one of the three existing councillors.

Cllr Jessica Toale was elected to Westminster Council for the Labour party in 2022 along with Paul Fisher and Patrick Lilley. But in early 2023 she was selected as a parliamentary candidate for Bournemouth West, and was subsequently elected in the 4 July general election this year.

A by-election to fill the single vacant seat to represent the West End ward, which includes Fitzrovia West, will take place on Thursday 19 September 2024. The deadline for registering to vote is midnight on Tuesday 3 September. Nomination papers for candidates wishing to stand at the election must be returned by 4pm on Thursday 22 August 2024.
